The Belmar School of the Musical Arts offers groups in various incarnations. All act as supplements to the foundational studies of the private lesson. Groups will be held in the form of a Live Playing Ensemble, Theoretical Classes, and Master Classes
Live playing ensembles are groups that form student bands in efforts to explore various musical styles and work on the communication skills of the students involved.
These sessions meet once a week for one hour and run for three months at a time. Students completing a live playing ensemble will be eligible to perform at a biannual student concert. Classes are announced at the time of matriculation.
Rate: 240.00 tuition per student (covers the full duration of three months)
Theoretical classes are in classroom format and also meet once a week for one hour lasting for a three month time period. These sessions focus on isolated topics such as:
- Song Writing
- Advanced Music Theory
- Music Notation
- Engineering
- Harmonization
- Counterpoint
- Ear Training
- Etc…
Rate: $195.00 tuition per student (covers the full duration of three months & supplies)
Master Classes are one time clinics given on specialty concepts by an artist with either paramount world experience, or mastery of innovative cutting edge techniques. These classes are announces well in advance and are scheduled for a time that will attempt to accommodate most students availability. The Featured artist will give a performance demonstrating the clinical concept and then allow time for a question and answer period. The master class is usually one to two hours depending on subject matter and other variables.
