For a limited time we are offering a free trial lesson. Anyone interested in learning how to play an instrument and those of you who are already on a musical path will surely benefit from an experienced instructor. This offer gives you the opportunity to meet with one of our teachers and see what musical guidance will for you. Please give us a call or send an email to schedule your free trial lesson.
Spring is finally rolling in! In my experience, the changing of season from a long cold winter into spring usually has a way of lifting spirits, inspiring, and motivating us to try new things. If you've always wanted to learn how to play an instrument, stop procrastinating and get moving. If you already do, learn a new song, master a new technique, or get some guidance on how to take a more uplifting solo. At the Belmar School of the Musical Arts, we always look forward to welcoming new, aspiring students.
On another note, with the change of seasons comes extreme temperature and humidity change. This can have a negative effect on instruments, but fortunately it's nothing a good set up can't fix. A set up consists of a neck adjustment, string height adjustment, electronics check and cleaning, setting intonation, tightening up tuning machines, fret polishing, and a general cleaning. Changing strings is suggested, but optional.
For our spring promotion we will be offering a 25% off discount on electric bass and electric or acoustic guitar set up labor. Please check out our repair page on out site for more information on repairs and set ups. This promotion will be in effect till June 1, 2010. Please give a call or stop in to drop off your bass or guitar to be set up. Set ups generally have a next day return time.
Please also note that summer group class and ensemble sign ups will be announced in our next blog post.
Thanks for reading and have a great spring!

Welcome to the new and improved “Belmar School of the Musical Arts” website. It’s been a long time coming, but it has finally come to fruition thanks to John Riemen of “Riemen Design“, who selflessly volunteered his time and effort to the reconstruction of this page. This is the first of many blogs that we will be writing on a regular basis to inform our current students and potential clientele of news, events, and group class sign ups. We will be also be periodically posting musical concepts, practice tips, suggested listening, and other information which could prove to be very helpful on your musical journey. Our most current blogs will be posted on the home page, but all past blogs can still be viewed on our blog page. Please visit us from time to time to check for news and other posted information. For more on private instruction, group classes & ensembles, guitar repair & custom building, and live recording, please check out the rest of our new web site or contact us. Thank you for reading, Ryan Thompson BSMA Director
