"Music should be fun as well as a disciplinary study. Balance of these, in fellowship with continuity, will result in a life long musical journey filled with enjoyment and artistic fulfillment"

The Belmar School of the Musical Arts is a collaboration of experienced, well educated music instructors dedicated to providing a thorough, well rounded education. To assure a proper balance, our private lessons tap into the personal stylistic interests of students of any level, while simultaneously integrating the skills of reading, writing, theory, technique, and improvisation.

Group sessions and master classes are also offered, as a supplement, to further the experience, vision, communication, and creativity of the "aspiring musician". Believing in a positive musical future, we use traditional theoretical information as a foundation that can support a musical construct built in either a classic or innovative design.

Spring Promotion: Check It Out!

April 15th, 2010 admin No comments

Spring is finally rolling in! In my experience, the changing of season from a long cold winter into spring usually has a way of lifting spirits, inspiring, and motivating us to try new things. If you've always wanted to learn how to play an instrument, stop procrastinating and get moving. If you already do, learn a new song, master a new technique, or get some guidance on how to take a more uplifting solo. At the Belmar School of the Musical Arts, we always look forward to welcoming new, aspiring students.
On another note, with the change of seasons comes extreme temperature and humidity change. This can have a negative effect on instruments, but fortunately it's nothing a good set up can't fix. A set up consists of a neck adjustment, string height adjustment, electronics check and cleaning, setting intonation, tightening up tuning machines, fret polishing, and a general cleaning. Changing strings is suggested, but optional.
For our spring promotion we will be offering a 25% off discount on electric bass and electric or acoustic guitar set up labor. Please check out our repair page on out site for more information on repairs and set ups. This promotion will be in effect till June 1, 2010. Please give a call or stop in to drop off your bass or guitar to be set up. Set ups generally have a next day return time.
Please also note that summer group class and ensemble sign ups will be announced in our next blog post.
Thanks for reading and have a great spring!
